  1. Folks, thanks for the info. Actually, was really looking for where the heck the adjusters are. Hard to see them. I try to make sure might lights are adjusted correctly and NOT blinding folks. What's up with so many trucks and SUV's with lights that are pointed straight ahead??? The worst are the ones with HID's installed and are totally blinding everyone. Don't these guys have a clue they're blinding everyone???
  2. Can anyone offer some advice on how to adjust the headlights on my 91? TIA!
  3. Hey thanks everyone for the feedback. Mine is the same way, just seemed a bit unusual. I guess I won't worry about it! Thanks again!
  4. Thanks! Never thought about those two things. I'll give it a try.
  5. Okay, sorry for so many questions, but the new tires have this protective stuff on the white lettering and I'm at a loss on how to remove it. Any suggestions? TIA!!!
  6. Is the Nissan factory gas cap supposed to allow for venting of gas pressure? I know that the cap I have now allows quite a bit of pressure to build up and is released when I open the cap. Or is this how it's supposed to be? TIA!
  7. Folks, just replaced my tires and was wondering what pressure most are running. Interestingly Costco has my tires at 28psi!!! They said that's recommended. Ummmm...I'm kinda not sure about that! Probably start running 32psi or thereabouts!
  8. Folks, thanks for all the info. I have no problem changing all of them since the studs probably don't cost much (crossing my fingers)!!! The interesting thing is how easy it seems to strip the threads on these.
  9. AARGH!!! Is this a typical problem? Or am I just a lucky guy???
  10. After changing my tires noticed a problem, one of my studs is broken. Can anyone share how difficult or easy it is to change the stud? TIA!!!
  11. Folks, glad to see the forum back up! Just thought I'd share what I've done recently. Changed all four shocks with KYB's. These are not the GasAjust's. Just the regular ones. Made a huge difference over the POS that previous owner had put in. Just way too stiff. Daily driving now is much more pleasant, especially going over bumps. Also changed all four tires with BFGoodrich Long Trails. Great tire and great price from Costco. That's about it for now!
  12. Thanks for the suggestions! But wondering also about the tweeter. Will any component tweeter fit there? Or can be made to fit? Thanks again!
  13. Folks, tried using Nissan4heelers to no avail. Forum is for the most part dead. Thought I'd appeal to you folks. Does anyone here have a 01 (or similar) Frontier that has upgraded their front door speakers? I'd like to know if there are any better speakers that'll drop right in? Thanks!
  14. Hey MWS nice ride! If my poor eyes are correct that's a Duc you're on, right? Sold my MV and Ducs and have none now! Anyway, you're right, the Euro lights have an extreme cut off but it's nice to have so much light on the road. I was thinking of just using HID's which only draw 35w but the light scatter has me scared about blinding on coming traffic even if they are aimed properly. I might just end up trying the better bulbs for marginally better lighting.
  15. Have you seen what the advantages the Euro spec lights provide? What type of bulb do they take? THanks!
  16. HA! I know, I know, but these were from the previous owner, not me! LOL! I think I'm going to try and sand them down and do a spray over and see how that comes out, can't hurt. Thanks!
  17. Folks, can anyone suggest a way to repair scrapes and scuffs on plastic bumpers/fenders? Or is the best solution to just buy new pieces? Thanks!
  18. Sorry to hear about those price but actually, I think those prices, while not inexpensive, aren't a rip off. All they're doing is charging you suggested retail and without the additional dealer mark up. I think Nissan over there would charge you more for the gasket set. If you need help with parts let me know. As an example I can get you that gasket set for $75 plus shipping. Wire set (NGK) for about the same.
  19. Folks, I know this is a bit off topic but thought there are those here with Frontiers that may be able to help me. Just picked up an 01 Frontier and was wondering if anyone could suggest a great forum like this one? Thanks!
  20. Oops, sorry, when I think Hualalai I think of the Kona/Kohala side. Not sure if you're problem is bent valves. If your valves got bent and the belt either slipped or broke your car wouldn't be running right now. So maybe not as bad as we first thought?
  21. Hey Z, don't forget that the mechanics I suggested are on the Kona side and NOT Hilo.
  22. Okay, used some of my contacts on the Big Island and this is what they came up with: Hualalai Garage at 324-4772 Contact : Jimmy Nakagawa or try Umeno's Auto repair at 324-4791 Contact : Mike Umeno
  23. Find a reputable shop other than the dealer. They're partially right, you need to turn the motor for a compression test BUT you can also do it using compressed air if I'm not mistaken. Skip the dealer, there's got to be a private shop around that can do the work. The trick would be to find a local shop that knows what its doing. :o The other crappy thing about your side of the island is the wealth that's coming in right now so not sure if the dealer is feeling the extra dollars so don't care about folks that want a good deal. I heard that the Kona Airport is currently experiencing the highest use by private jet in the nation. In fact, some even have to park the jets on Maui because there aren't any spots left at Kona. Now this does bring up the fact that if the State Dept. of Transportation was smart they'd increase the capacity at Kona and just charge more but that's another story.
