  1. currently im running the r200/h233 combo with 4.3 gears / 31" tires / stock vg30i, i'm getting a set of 33"'s real cheap (50 bucks for 5 w/ 70% tread) my questions are: 1. will the 4.3 ratio be ok to turn the 33's ??? 2. i have some r180/c200 4.6 ratio axles from my 4cyl. pathy, is the 180/200 strong enough to handle the 33's and the vg30 ???, im gonna have my parts rig towed off soon n i want to get anything i can use off of it. i dont want to spend any $$ on it right now im waiting to find a cheap waggy d44 for the front then im going to go to 4.875/4.88 gears..... i think i found one in an alley, just gotta get the crack head owner to let go of it.....
  2. thats odd, i have an 87 with the factory z24i and 5 speed, it has 4.6 front and rear, r180/c200 and thats from the tag under the hood.... correctly if i'm wrong but normally auto trans equipped vehicles have the lower ratio ie 4.3:1 vs 4.6:1 because of the slip of the torque converter you get a virtual gear reduction in the tranny..... i could be wrong.
  3. is there any performance difference between a california model ECU and a standard or Federal ECU ??? i have a cali model but i live in washington, im bidding on an 88 "standard" ECU on ebay..... wondering if this will be anydifferent performance wise???
  4. ok i got my a/c line fixed (via compression coupler) and the system working..... my question is how much drag should the system put on the motor when its running full tilt? i thought my vg30i was gutless before, but i gotta give it hella throttle just to get it to move down the road when the a/c is on..... oh btw i have really ****** throttle response normally , but its alot worse with the a/c running.

I cleaned the MAF sensor earlier this year, i will have to give it another shot of sensor cleaner..... i will double check my fuel pressure, and try crimping the return line to see what the pump will max out at.... ... if my timing belt was off by one tooth on 1 or both cams could that cause the stumbling and lake of top end?
  10. ok my used jap import vg30i idles like a top and has ok low end torque and power for a stock vg30i.... i just replaced the o2 sensor and it seemed to help a bit with the trottle response, but the power seems to start dropping off around 3k and up, and it will not rev under load past 5k. the timing is at factory specs, and i also checked the fuel pressure and while reving the engine.... it stays steady around 34psi, i have not checked fuel pressure under load conditions. the ECU is not throwing any codes out. it also falls flat on its face if you accelerate at anything but a snails pace. it will go blah for a second or two then it picks back up. any ideas?? could my fuel pump be on its last leg? or could my pick-up screen be clogged?
  11. where is the rear defogger timer and relay located? need to check them dont know where they're at, i have an '87 FSM and it doesnt show their location.
