  1. Revising This post because I found an Xterra rack at my local JY for $70 was wondering if it could be done easily on a '93 with a sunroof? El P
  2. Knoxville- I'm digging the original all caps, bordered one. Got a buddy who makes signs and does vinyl all the time Do you mind if i give him the design and make myself a sticker (the official sticker thing never works out for ALL members, so I'm takin it on myself to get a sticker for the pathy) EL P
  3. Nice hitch Slick....same one I've got on me pathy, except mine gets used more as protection than as an actual hitch (rocks dont stand a chance )
  4. so lemme get this straight this is for a four pole lighting adapter? did the wd21's come with a factory four pole?? El P
  5. 5. Got a power invertor want to throw in back hatch, and also one or two more in glove box for other stuff like radar detector and thermometer El P
  6. doing some wiring on EL P lately but have a few q's 1. Where is the wiring harness for a trailer loacated, tore through my taillight harness a little bit and cant find it, if not there how hard is that too tap? 2. where does everyone mount their relays for aftermarket lights? 4. Will have four different circuits of lights leading off of my battery, as well as my stereo, would wiring in a second fuse box be a good idea, so it doesn't look like the jungle book is crawling off my battery?? 5. want to wire in a second and maybe third 12 volt female end, where would be the best way to tap those in (one will be in hatch for sure) 6. want to tie in some small fog light to my reverse light circuit, just splice off my existing reversle light wire right? Have quite a good deal of exp. with electronics, but just value second opinions, will post up more questions later......... El P
  7. Just redid EVERYTHING in the pathy so this is a topic I can helpout on a lot 1. Take out of car (duh) 2. Wash everything really well with soap and water 3. Rinse off and air dry 4. Scuff all plastic Surfaces with scotch brite or light sandpaper so paint has something to stick to 5. Rinse off with water again 6. Soak Lint-free washcloth in alcohol (not vodka tho -alcohol- ) and give everything a good bath 7. make sure you buy Either Krylon's Fusion, Or Rustoleum's Plasti-kote for all your plastic parts, but you'll want a vinyl & fabric paint for your armrests, or other high-contact areas, will last longer 8. Spray away, allowing at least an hour between coats 9. About 3 or four coats should do the job 10. finish it off with a coat or two of semigloss, clear coat, just to ensure protection This way might seem time consuming and a PITA, but getting in a huryy with this stuff will guarantee is doesn't look like shiite Thats my $0.02 El P
  8. I'm off to Wyotech in January which is 350 miles from home, but I'm taking the pathy with. and a couple of my buddies are coming too (with their 'wheelers) so It shouldnt be too bad, except the enrollment in 98% guys :furious:
  9. - Painted trim (Black and Silver) - Working on painting center console - Skull Shift knob on T-Case lever - Panasonic CQ1401U CD MP3 WMA deck - XM Sportscaster in cubby (looks like it was made to be there) - 1 10'' MTX sub - tool box, filly loaded and ready for ANY situation (and I do mean ANY) - Air mattress and pump (for those nights I shouldnt drive home -alcohol- ) -PA speaker (havent got it wired up yet) SIDE NOTE: I've been thinking of putting in a power inverter is it possible to squeaze one into the cubbies in the rear hatch?
  10. would it be safe to remove the cross members in order to put the hole in? the braces are only used to support the sheetmetal of the roof, or are they a key to support of the side walls to??
  11. Headed off to auto body/custom street roddesign in 4 months and was wondering is a sliding rag top (think 60's VW vans and bugs) could be done on a pathy? already have a sunroof so, might be able to base off the existing cut as a basis for the rest of the way back. the slight rise in the roof may pose a problem there, but are there other supports in the roof i'd have to worry about? -thnkboutit- El P
  12. Well folks, as you all know the Pathfinder has been down for weeks now, and while its down I ve ben fixing stupid little things like repainting my interior So heres my next question? what steps do i need to take to prep up my center console for painting so far i've got it down but ive never painted something that is made to stretch like the armrest on the console does Is it the same basic procedure 1.scuff with light sandpaper/scotchbright, clean with alcohol (not stolie, thats too sticky -alcohol- ) then spray away using plastic paints like Krylon's Fusion, or Rustoleum's Plasticote? the trim and stuff is alread all painted up using a textured plastic paint that makes it look like hammered metal, and all gray trim has been coated with black, an now am looking to paint armrests and console black.....
  13. The guys at my local stereo place actually told me to buy that stuff, they all run it in theri own rigs...
  14. Welcome to the club Rami, Welcome to the club rebuilding the one in El right now
  15. I called the Local JY 's and onl was a able to guarantee one tranny-one with 150,000 on it for $1100 :o - not buying that! one other JY said they might have a couple of hardbody's on hand they could steal the tranny out of- will that work? and then I found a rebuild kit for $350 and a buddy of mine who used to work at a toyota dealership (I know I know toyota's and Nissan's are completely different animals, but its better than a VW tech right?) He says he'll do the work for me, and Ill help him out - If i go this way, and put on a B&M cooler would that be the best bet? And as for looking on Ebay for one- you guys need to realize I live in SOUTH DAKOTA, there isnt a nissan off roader for miles, let alone a decent pathy. so far the closest pathy to me I've found on Ebay was 500 miles away in iowa El P
  16. As you all know my Pathy's tranny took a crap on me about a month ago, tore it open this weekend and found out I had sheared a plastic bushing inside completely off, thus forcing the clutch packs to seize And now I've thought about my options: 1. go out and buy a Jeep Cherokee and be like everyone else on the trails 2. Buy a Full size blazer and shoot myself in the foot every time I fill up the gas or 3. rebuild the Pathfinder, even with the high mileage it has SO: my question is how much does it run to have the autotragic rebuilt?? or would I be better off buying another used one and swapping 'em out Let me know before I join the Jeep world........
  17. I used to take the pathy off-roadin every weekend before it died.... had mud up to the windows, drove through a pond up to the door handles, and many hill climbs moral of the story: I've only used 4WD twice on all my local trails, and once I wouldnt have needed to switch to 4WD if I had a little more speed Overall just a good (but underrated) 'wheeler
  18. Agree on the angle grinder its almost a swiss army knife when it comes to metal, but a Dremmel tool is easily a close second- used one to prep the metal on my rack, cut my fender flares back, and take rust off my grill guard Miller makes pretty damn nice "110 buzzboxes" there '87 We have one at school and it will outweld anything in the shop when you're running 3/16 or smaller
  19. i know it sucks that i have to do it but thats only "if" the tranny is toast
  20. Figured it out...traced the power wire back into my steering wheel of all places and found that it had been cut off (probably to keep fuses from blowing) rewired it into my acc. and now they work great sly
  21. Solenoids are $385 direct from nissan for teh 4 speed autotragic I think the tranny's toast now-no second gear at all Fear not my friends a jeep is out of the question. A frind of mine has a '97 S-10 ZR-2 for sale 10" lift SAS-front dana 44 rear axle swap-GM 12 bolt lockers front and rear 4.3 v6 35 inch TRXUS STS's dual t-cases !! $4000 !! Hopefully I wont have to replace EL, but if I do at least I'll still wheel in style :cool2:
  22. looks good, If my pathy lives through a little transmission surgery, Im doing the same thing. If ot, im doing t to the '97 SAS'd S-10 I'm buying to replace mypathy sly
