  1. for extra clearance, i am interested in getting 1" spacers up front and in the rear, but have a few questions and concerns. i know nx4 makes strut spacers, but would i have to get custom spacers for the rear? or would i be able to use these rubber spacers... Here ... I think thats what they are? Anyone know anything about these? Also, would doing this IN ADDITION to the AC lift give too much stress on the CV's even if i have manual hubs installed? im looking for all the clearance i can get, without doing a sfd, and i would love to be able to fit 33's. any help would be appreciated!
  2. hey i can give you part numbers, but the shocks are at my dads so it will be a few days until i go there if your interested
  3. just wondering if 2.5in backspacing on a 16x8 wheel is too low. i like a wide stance but i dont want it to stick out TOO much. what would be my better bet? 16x8 with 2.5in backspacing or 4in backspacing? i cannot find ANY 16x8 black steel wheels with 3.75 backspacing out there. any advice would be appreciated thanks !
  4. i was thinking about cutting the heat shield off... but is that bad? will there be any problems if i cut the heat shield off?
  5. it seems that my exhaust is starting to die on me. first off, the muffler rattles like crazy, im thinking its the heat shield? and also there are noises coming from around my catalytic converter that sound like pieces clunking around inside. it almost sounds like when you stick a card in bicycle spokes. i could be wrong though. question is, should i start rebuilding my exhaust? im in the middle of saving for a lift. so its either deal with the exhaust sounds or wait to get lifted. how much are mufflers, exhaust systems, etc and which ones are good? i have heard of flowmaster, magnaflow...anything else? i have a 1999.5 pathfinder
  6. looks sweet jose! i love the wideness. my friend just put 32's on his yukon, with 16x8 rims with 4.5 backspacing. luckily he's got the same bolt pattern as pathfinders, so when i get my lift he said he'll let me test out the 32's, see if theres rubbing, and see if i want more or less backspacing when i get my own rims. works out great
  7. i like the wheels sticking out a little, and an inch or two sounds good, so i think ill go with the wheels with 3.75 backspacing, and hope getting 32's will not cause rubbing! -thanks guys rob
  8. after my AC lift, im getting new wheels and 32x10.5 BFG AT's, or dick cepek radial FCII's. question is, what size wheel do i get? i know i get 16, but width? backspacing? im thinkin 16x8 with 3.75 backspacing. if i like the wider stance look, would it make sense to get 16x8 with 2.5 backspacing? thats the next lowest BS that i can find in the rock crawlers. please help me ive been reading these forums for months now and still dont know what to do!
  9. i was also personally looking at the pro comp xtreme all terrain, but after i talked to a friend who had them, i decided not to go with them anymore. he basically said its a good tire, however there are better tires out there for the money. i was looking at the mickey thompson baja ATZ's and the dick cepek radial FC-II's. does anyone have experience with these?
  10. have you guys ever heard of or bought stuff from www.nissanpartsconnection.com? i have been looking at the site for a few days and it seems cool. if someone that is familiar with lifts and strut mounts, and could help me that would be great. on the site there are four OEM parts that have to do with the upper strut mount. -Upper mount , Bearing Back -Upper mount , Bracket Back -Upper mount , From 12/98 Back -Upper mount , Spacer Back which ones do i need when im installing new struts? i am going to avoid KYB like everyone said. there is a diagram on there also pointing out the parts, its pretty cool. if no one has checked out that site before then they should definately. a lot of good stuff. rob
  11. i have a 1999.5, but its not two tone trim, its all black. also the grille is like the 2000-2004 grille. i am beginning to think this is NOT a 1999.5 as it said when i bought it. could my pathy be another year?
  12. what would be the better choice, between 16x8 wheels with 2.5 in backspacing, or 16x8 wheels with 3.75 backspacing? i understand the lower the number, the more it sticks out. but if i get the 2.5 does that mean i would have a better chance of not rubbing the strut? also, if i get the AC lift and either of those wheels, can i fit 32's? i was looking at the mickey thompson or the dick cepek AT's. i have read so many things on here about being able to and not being able to, i dont know what to think. any help would be appreciated!
  13. im pretty sure it is the air vents, because when i have the air on hot or cold it comes out in the same spot. cold comes out cold, and hot comes out hot. but when the air if OFF, HOT air comes from the feet. i can deal with it, i was just wondering if it was normal or if there was anything i could do about it!
  14. when traveling at...i'd say 40 mph or higher, hot air blows out from under my steering wheel onto my feet. is this normal? my AC and heat are OFF! but it still blows out anyway, and its annoying! anyone know what this is? thanks rob
  15. how do the manual hubs work? i really dont wanna have to get in and out of my car to lock or unlock.
  16. hey guys, im new to all this and have been reading these forums and such for months in regards to lifting my pathy. i have a 1999.5 4x4, and i was just curious if i have all the necessary items to lift. im going with the AC lift, with gr-2 front struts, rancho RS5000 shocks, and the strut tower mounts. im trying to get away without spending a lot of money. im also going to get the camber alignment bolts. it says on 4x4parts that i have to purchase aftermarket wheels with 3.75 backspacing, however ive seen R50s lifted with the stock wheels. if this is true i will purchase 15x8 rock crawlers, and 32x11.5 BFG AT's. is this all i need? -coils, gr2 struts, rancho rs5000 shocks, strut tower mounts, camber alignment bolts. - 15x8 rock crawlers, and 32x11.5 BFG AT's and more importantly, will the tires and all fit and will i be ready to roll? help would be greatly appreciated . im only 17 and do not know much about all this! thanks! -rob
