  1. im gonna take a look tomorrow, but im gonna replace the rotors anyway. ive been meaning to do that for a while now. what would the shaky steering wheel be from?
  2. so i went to get an alignment, and the guy told me i had too much camber to align it properly. i guess i have to buy another set of camber bolts? however, on the way home...i hit a pothole of death with my passenger tire. after that my steering wheel was violently shaking when the brakes were applied, and when i did apply the breaks, the wheel would make a sharp left turn and i had to control the car so i didn't slam into anyone! i also notices a bad smell, almost like burning rubber. i could smell it when i was driving. does anyone know what the problem could be? bad rotors? calipers? anything would be appreciated! -Rob
  3. that is great! i would have loved to use this when i had to do my hubs. one thing is that i didnt put the longer studs in, and it still went on perfectly. would this be the reason why my 4LO does not work? it just revs like its in N when i put it in 4LO. also i get noises when im in 4HI when the wheel is locked all the way turning? i just replaced both CV's also.
  4. its great that there are more products for our R50's! but what exactly are these for? whats the advantage of buying them?
  5. would you guys be able to tell me if its okay running 33's AFTER i attempt a SFD, if i have 4.6 gears? i have a 1999.5 LE. what about 35's also?
  6. quick question, when i lock the hubs and engage 4x4, i hear clicking from the wheel that has the broken CV. when i drive straight its constant clicking only when i am applying the gas pedal. it gets faster when i give it more gas and stops when i let off the pedal. also if i am going slow and turn to either the right or left, it starts clicking (which is a different louder sound than the previous). this is only in 4wd and is only on the side of the car with the broken CV boot. is it CV thats making this noise? thanks!
  7. i have some silicone spray, but where exactly do i spray it?
  8. i would LOVE to do a sub frame drop, however i'm not too familiar with it and dont know all the parts i need. are the CV axles that 4x4parts sells OEM or are they aftermarket?
  9. now i don't know whose advice to take! i think i will buy the boots just to hold me over, then buy new axles in about a month after a few more paychecks!
  10. i have heard nothing. it seems to have been like that for a while now too. i will probably just replace the boot and see how that works out
  11. after about 9 hours of me and my dad struggling to get everything done, we finally did. i am very happy with the way it came out! got the 2" ac lift, kyb struts and bilsteins in the rear. manual hubs were also installed. also got 32" mickey thompson baja ATZs and 16x8 rock crawlers with 4.25 BS. i had to trim just very little. i took off the splash guards, but kept on the passengers side just to cover the thing that holds my wiper fluid. with those removed will it cause any problems? let me know what you guys think! if you look below, i noticed my CV boot was torn when we were doing the struts. how bad is this and do i have to buy a whole new axle or just the boot?
  12. i know the rear is fairly easy for the AC lift, i am just unsure of which way the springs go, and which way they're supposed to face. there are no markings on the springs. we did the front already, but now the back needs to be done! my car is undrivable until then! any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -Rob
  13. i am not sure for the rancho shocks, but for your 1998 , the KYB struts are 335016 for the left, and 335015 for the right. for 1999.5-2002 pathfinders i believe it is 335031 for the left and 335030 for the right.
  14. x2^....go to ebay and type in "pathfinder clear corners" and a bunch come up for your year
  15. i just ordered new wheels and tires online. the wheels i had chosen were 16x8 with 3.75 backspacing. 4wheelparts just called me and said that this was an "unusual" backspacing, and it is custom order and would take 4-6 weeks. since i needed my tires and wheels ASAP, the only other option was 4.25 backspacing on the same wheel. i have heard this will not clear the strut, because you shouldn't go over 4". if it hits the strut is my only other option wheel spacers? are wheel spacers for the rear also? thanks Rob
  16. if i am doing my lift in three weeks, is this something i should consider? what exactly do they do and how much?
  17. ahhhh i want his pathy so bad! i wish i had the b@lls to try to fit 33's!
  18. i am not expecting to wheel A LOT, just here and there whenever i want. im going to go with your advice and see if i want the spacers after the lift. i will post pics. thanks!
  19. i am planning on going from 30" to 32" tires with the AC lift, but if i got the spacers i would try to fit 33" tires. maybe not though. so basically strut spacers with the lift springs and manual hubs are not a good idea because of the CVs?
  20. if i install the lift springs, 1" spacers in the front, and manual hubs all at the same time, i will be okay? what about the CV angle with the additional inch?
