  1. This might be a little different situation... I don't what happend 3 days ago with me. I was taking a short trip to the mountains to see if there was snow and found out there was none so I decided to take everyone for a ride off the side of the road. We found a trail and further into it, there was a pretty steep drop. I put the truck into the Nuetral and shifted the transfer case into 4LO by pushing down and pulling back, then I proceeded down the hill. When I got to the bottom I wanted to take it out of 4LO so I did the same, Nuetral and moved the transfer case into Nuetral. but when I tried to push it up to 4HI to get to 2WD it sounded like it was grinding so I stopped pushing. Tried to see if it would go back into 4LO but it made that same sound and same feel. I was completely stopped so I don't know what was going on. A few seconds later I tried again and it went into 4HI. Is it normal that I have to wait a few seconds?

  2. Thanks for the response. I guess I'm taking it to the shop. Maybe it is better to pay someone to deal with the BS. With the tranny mod, where would I find a big enough cooler that would handle an ass whooping? P...

  3. I searched the forum but found no how to.. Just wondering, what's the difficulty level of the job? Would it be better to just take it to the shop. They wanted $65... They also said my front axels are bad. $340 each, P&L.

  4. 96 Pathy.

When I start driving after its rested all night I can drive in it about ohh 20 minutes with no squeakage.. its the greatest 20 minutes ever lol

but then like clockwork it always comes.. a high pitch squeel that is coming from my right tire side.. when i come to stops i hear it sorta squeel to a stop.. its goes WEEEEYEYEYeeeyeyeeeehhh as i get slower

then same thing when i start movin again, hhhheeeeeeyeyeyeyeEYEYEWEEYEYE lol

    the most aggravating noise ever..

also if im goin over 20mph the slightest turn of the steering wheel to the right, im talking like half an inch turn.. doesn't even move the car its so slight.. it'll squeek, i get bored sometimes while driving and pretend its some kind of turn table and go squeeky sque sque squeek squeek.. and when i take long right turns or curves it just squeeks till the turn is done..

First, I thought it was shocks, then I thought it was something with breaks cause of it happening while stopping, now i dunno what to think. A friend suggested it might be the CV joints.. he said something about when getting hot they squeak.. which might explain why it only happens after 20 min..

anyone ever have this or know what it could possibly be so i can take it to the shop again and suggest it, rather than saying i dunno it goes WEEYEYEYE to the guy..

I took it up there once before and he thought he fixed it but nope..

You know what? I get that same squeal. It only happens, like you said, after a long rest. When I start the car going, and come to a stop it squeals really loudly... But, after a while of driving, mine goes away.

I too was thinking it was the CV joints since I still have auto hubs. If it is the CV joints, what else may need to be replaced that goes along with having auto hubs?

  5. Refill the original one-quart containers with the used oil. It's probably much harder to accurately measure your used oil quantity with a 5-quart jug. Why does it matter how much used oil you empty out anyway? If only 3 quarts comes out, don't just put 3 back in. Follow the oil capacity guidelines provided by Nissan: 3-7/8 quarts with a filter change on the VG33E.

Hahahaha, No, no, no. What I meant was.... If I buy the 5 quart jug instead four 1 quart jugs too save money... How will I know when to stop pouring? I really don't care how much comes out of the truck, just the amount that goes in.

  6. this last few weeks, there have been a lot of earthquakes.... ........i'm at work(graveyard shift) and at the airport. so once it starts shaking, i'm headed towards the middle of the runway....

Freaky, I work at the San Diego airport. The runway seems to be the safest place to be during a quake.

  7. I have always used 5 quarts when changing my oil. Is that a bad thing? About the filter position, it is hard to reach and loosen from under the truck. I can't find a way to stop the oil from getting all over the place, but just preparing yourself with a big oil pan that will catch both oil from the filter and the drain at the same time. :)

  8. He bought a 2005 toyota tundra double cab he stopped getting the pathfinders cause he needed the bed for work. But i will have this car forawhile and if i get another car it will probably be another one since ive been around them all my life.

By the way i made a mistake it is a splash guard my fault. I also painted the gas tank guard too. Sry guys

Could of bought a Titan... :)

  9. Whats the 3rd peddle for anyway??  I gave up a stick Yota for an auto Nissan.  The stick was just getting too much work in LA traffic.

ITS THE CLUTCH it disengages the transmission from the engine while shifting

He has had a stick before... I think, or at least I hope, he was being sarcastic with that question. Hahaha..

I for one have auto.. Makes wheeling much more simple.

  10. My brother had a bad experience with a Las Vegas Nissan dealership. He went in looking for a used Sentra and came home with a 2004 Sentra 1.8 with only 12,000 miles. Car was nice but without the essentials like power steering, locks, and windows. A few days later he went in to make a payment and instead of him leaving, he ended up having to surrender his keys and phone home. Turns out he didn't qualify for the loan since he was a first-time-buyer. Either that, or he forks out more money for his down payment. Boy were my parents pissed. If that were me, I would have driven the car home and had them pick it up themselves.

A day later they recieved a phone call from the dealer and was offered a 2005 Sentra 1.8S with a $2,500 rebate, for their trouble. The thing is, the rebates only go out to the 2005 models. They would take his $500, plus the $2,500 rebate and use it as a $3,000 down payment. My dad was totally confused on why he didn't offer that to them in the first place. That would have made it so much simpler.

In the end, he walked out with the newer car. Complete with power everything and keyless entry. My family is happy. But now.... I'm jealous... I want a new car too.
