  1. '97 Pathfinder SE. Has anyone done, or knows how to calibrate the speedometer for my SE? The only shop, locally, that is willing to do it wants $350 CND. My tranny guy did it for free when he looked at my tranny, when it welded its self together, but he was bought out by some auto service company, and i cant find him personally. Can anyone offer any help or give references to look at? Tks. P Rookie.
  2. I wasnt planing on it. The seals are really cheap $10 for both.
  3. Sorry about the redundancy but I originally had this posted in the R50 forum, but I haven’t received a reply as of yet. A little more to my issue: I have been having issues with vibrations in the rear of my pathy for a while now. When I had it up, and supported it by the axle, their was an abnormal vibration when allowed to spin freely in drive. I took it to a buddies shop and had my aluminum wheels cleaned and balanced, one wheel was extremely difficult to balance, and had a visible sway to it on the balancer. When taken for a test drive my problem was still there. Thinking it was the ‘warped’ wheel, I lived with it till I put on my 31’s with new rims. But my problem still continues. There is a slight play with my axle bearing, but I don’t see this causing me a vibration at around 95 and 120km/h. My current tires are balanced, and their no visible defects on the tires. I have recently noticed that the rim/tire on the side with the bearing play, seems to be warped, I had this look at and the rim is fine. Is their anything else I need to check or test before I replace the bearing, cause its not cheep and its an involved job, and I cant be without wheels. Below is my previous post. “Hey guy I have to replace my rear wheel bearings on one side of my truck. I have called around for the parts and im getting a really steep price for the bearings and seals, $220 my cost taxes in. I was wondering if anyone has an old bearing and/or seal that’s kicking around that has a number still legible on it. I want to see if I can get it through the bearing shop. Also does anyone have pics of the rear hub apart; because the exploded diagram is showing me a sealed ball bearing type, this seem wrong to me, and the shop books call for 2 bearing and 2 seals. Id take it apart to see but I have no other wheels, and my shop is 50km from town. Any information in this regard would be grateful. Thanks. And Happy New Year to everyone on here.” P. Rookie
  4. XPLORx4 the 32's that you are running on the 3.75 BS wheels, how r they for rubbing? cause im pricing out 31s, cause i remember reading that 32s need some trimmig in the front wells.
  5. Ya i can’t find anything either. i did find a relocation kit for a CRV that runs the same oil filter, but i dont know if it will screw onto the threaded pipe that come out of the block of the Pathy The pipe threads for the CRV and the Pathy are more than likely different. I should talk to the guys at the parts place, tell them what i want to do so if it doesn’t work i can return that CRV Kit. Just have to remember to ask when im there.
  6. Ya thats what i figured. ill do a quick one just so i can get it form my shop to the alignment place. not happy about the price though. Okay thanks P Rookie
  7. Just curious to know if there is anyway to do my own front end alignment. (’97 SE). I was planning to just take it to the shop but none of them will do it with the 2” lift im going to be installing. Well I did find one place but their quote is $160, if everything goes good, not willing to pay that since the going rate for a 4WD alignment here is about $50-$60. What can be done? P Rookie
  8. Ya a CB a Handy thing to have. I had that noise too, but i just moved my ground wire to one of the bolt that hold the 4x4 boot on. I had a larger Cobra which i had in that CD Pocket, but it burnt itself out. My new one, i installed on the button bar. Take a Look.
  9. $108 a piece in Canada. And They pop off straight up A stiff puddy knife did it for me. Get some touch up paint because it will scratch no way around that... that i know of. Oh and if u get new ones put greese on the inside prevents them from rusting out as fast. Hope this helps. Cheers!
  10. XPLORx4 I checked out that site, i could believe that price. I Just dont know if they ship to canada. Thats half of my prob getting stuff everything is in the U.S. And Vengeful I will check out the Tire Rack tomorrow, need some sleep. Tks.
  11. Labor is no cost other than time to me, I do all my own service and repairs. So im not worried in that way. As for those strut bearings, I need the drivers side defiantly, it is going, I can hear it. Im going to have to remake the strut mount my self cause their $104 (the cheapest and it doesn’t come with the bearing, like WTF!), ill just have to weld a pipe where the bearing sits cause its worn out on one side. Just like Justins (96PathfinderSe) Well thats the plan but ill see once i got them off. The Struts have about 60-70000 km on them. And Yes great minds do think alike, and NPORA proves that. Lol.
  12. Ya Im really looking foward to this lift. Keep hearing and reading good things. I tryied doing a search on the forum to see if i have to get new front struts, but i keep getting an error. I was introduced to a auto parts place that are able to get me a set of KYB at $100 a pop. Do I need new struts cause my old ones aren't tbad, i just dont know if they will thake the new coils. Im trying to keep this all under $1000 if i could, trying to save some money, but i dont want to wreck my truck of my new investment. Any thoughts. Tks. P. Rookie
  13. LOL a Mini Van? I snap when people call my truck that. thats what i like to hear, i want a ride like a truck. And Vengful i looked at those Camber Adjustment Bolts you mentioned, and added them to my cart... which now stands at $420 (coincidence? dont think so ) but by what ive read and heard about these lifts i dont think ill be disappointed. Thanks Guys. Any more advice or cautions are welcomed.
  14. 'Camber Adjustment bolts' thats something new to me. Is this another item im going to have to get from the U.S. or can i just go to my local auto parts store. Im Really curious about this now, think im going to hit the net and see what i can find. And i just put new shocks in the back so im good that way and for the front, ill have to see about my $$ situation. Whos the manufacture of the Camber Adjustment bolts you got?
  15. lol AWW... Did u miss me? Ya ive been Busy With Life You know how it is. But ya, you liked the ride? Did they soften up a lot on you? I need to know if they are worth the $360 + shipping. And whats going on with the Bushings (Control link Bushings?).
  16. Okay im about to break down and get the AC 2" Lift and some shinny new Rims. What i want to know is how does the AC lift ride. I want a stiffer ride than stock but i dont want a mini dump truck. What are your reviews on the lift. PS I tried to look in past posts but couldn’t find anything on the ride comfort. Tks P. Rookie
  17. Alright After looking at many wheels, ive found a couple ive liked, one problem though, the backspacing only come in 3.75" and 4.75", how is this going to affect the 31's i want. Do i need a 4" backspacing for the 15x8 or do i have room to play? P. Rookie
  18. Thanks Max man. I checked that site, found a couple that i like in black, but my fav only comes in white, oh well. The only problem is i live the stick in canada and shipping tends to get expensive. Im going to check the wreckers see what they got. Some sand blasting and pouder coating, she’ll be like new. Take her easy, and thanks again.
  19. So Vengful if i was to get 15 x 8" rim with a 4" backspacing, could i accommodate 31’s without the lift, and up grade to 32’s next tire change when i have the lift?
  20. Im going to have to purchase new tires this year, before winter. I have a 97 pathy se, and i want to put some 31s on. I also want a different rim than what i currently have installed. I have no lift at this time but am planning to install AC 2" coil lift once i got some $$ for the coils and hubs. Unlees i can get a tested 3-4". I want a greater offset with my rims, also would like the tires to stick out more, but im afraid that i wont be able to install the 31' because of the flares and fuel line bracket that’s in the passenger side wheel well. So what im asking is what has been tested and what am i looking at for problems. If i need to move that :furious: fuel bracket, damn it i will. Id like to stay with a 7X15" rim. I love the look of 96pfinderSE rig ( very nice man), and want mine similar. Any and all info would be appreciated, as well as pics and links to check out. Thanks. P. Rookie
  21. XPLORx4: Ya the price off that site is a little more than the local parts dealer. ill just order it locally here. Thanks again for the help XPLORx4. Trainman: The dealer ship that i am forced to deal with are mongolatards. Every time i need anything, it always need to be hooked up to the computer. Control links... computer. Harmonic ballancer... computer. Extensive fogging problem... computer. I love to hit them but @!*% splatters. you know the type right? That y i come here to post my problems / concerns and get better advice.... i love my truck but hate the Nissan dealership. Ciao.
  22. XPLORx4 Wow they really need to be replaced eh? I dont think mine are that bad, i think that a couple rollers have went, because it clicks and jerks when i turn. But those pics you posted leds me to another question, do i need to compress my springs to replace the bearing? and you would know the bearing number by chance? It will be cheaper for me to go the local bearing dealer than the auto part dealer. Thanks.. Good pics by the way.
  23. Hey guys its been a while. Anyways my front strut bearing is hooped on my truck. I've tryied to talk to the dealership about this but they keep telling me that they need to hook it to the computer to test it. (Im Going To SNAP On Them If They Keep It Up) Well i need a strut bearing. I found a kit for $85 and a bearing alone for $35 so what im asking is, do i need the kit or can I just replace the bearing on its own. Im getting conflicting information on this and i would like someone that has done this before for their input. Cheers… Pathfinder Rookie
