  1. Will the vg 30 bend valves if it breaks a timing belt, or is it what they call a no interference engine?
  2. but if you are towing and not crawling rocks it should be okay?
  3. I may just buy a small truck to drive, and fix mine up. I really kind of like it. By the way, what is wrong with an x-terra?
  4. I am trying to decide if I want to keep mine and fix it up a little, or buy a newer model. I like a manual trans, and I am afraid that will be a little hard to find.
  5. Are the 96-04 pathfinders a uni-body truck, or do they have a frame? Do they have the same rear suspension as the older pathfinders?
  6. The fronts in mine were definitely 5.25. I just got through replacing them.
  7. The line to my rear pump must be broken/disconnected because the pump runs but no washer fluid comes out.
  8. Where is the tank that holds the window washing fluid for my rear hatch?
  9. Still no luck. I tried mine again yesterday, and it doesn't work at all. I guess I don't really need it though.
  10. I'll try it. I am used to the toyota "clutch start cancel" button. You don't need to hold them down. That still doesn't explain why it only works in 4L
  11. I was told it was for starting without the clutch, but it doesn't work like that on my truck. Mine is either broken, or the button does something else. Mine only works when the truck is in 4low, then I can depress the inter loc button and the light on the dash comes on.
  12. OEM= original equipment manufacturer= dealership
  13. I know some folks around here get a little pissy about this, but, he ditched the cat on my truck. The improvement in how well my truck runs is way, way more than reasonable. My truck can now accelerate up hills with the boat in tow. I think that is pretty impresive. By the way, the boat probably weighs a little over 3k pounds. My fuel mileage also improved dramatically.
  14. Holy sheepdip batman! That is so ugly it hurts me to look at it. I am glad I don't live up north, so I don't have to deal with problems like that. Thank god you only gave $800 for that truck.
  15. Pulled the boat today for the 1st time since I got my truck out of the repair shop. I don't know exactly what the mechanic did to my little rig but it pulled the boat with some authority. I'm impressed. I didn't even need 4low to pull the boat up the launch ramp.
  16. Truck is running alright again, I can't believe it took almost 3 days to dry out. One other note, after it came back from the shop I went from getting 280 miles per tank to 350 per tank.
  17. Where I live, the cost was alittle over 150 bucks. They did replace the trim for that amount.
  18. Good luck. I have searched for a decent looking 16" rim to replace the factory ones, and have had no luck. I an pretty particular though. The new rims must not stick out past my fender flares, or rub during turns (no lift kits), and still have a hole in the center large enough for the hubs on a nissan. They are hard to find in a style that is comtemporary, and looks good. JMHO I also am not sure I could run 265/75/16 tires without a lift kit.
  19. I did it yesterday, and the engine is still running terrible as of this evening. What could it be? I might have to put it back in the shop in the morning, because I need it to tow the boat this weekend.
  20. I haven't looked anywhere yet, but I figured if it was somewhere like that it would have evaporated already. Any thoughts?
  21. I just got my truck out of the shop after having the passenger side exhaust manifold replaced. The truck ran like a new one after the repairs were made, but now I have a problem. I washed the engine yesterday at the car wash and now my truck runs like s**t. I did not go nuts with the high pressure sprayer, but It was enough to get water somewhere that it should not be. Where are the nissan trucks susceptible to water intrusion?
  22. Aren't the newer pathfinders a unibody chassis? I don't think I would like that, if they are.
  23. Too bad we don't drive a toyota. There would be all kinds of goodies available for them.
  24. Some of you guys really do need to get a life!
  25. Why go through all that trouble? A new one installed is only a little over 100 bucks. It doesn't seem like it is worth that much effort for so little money.
