Clean Engine

I have read in some magazines about using a pressure washer but i am not so sure about that and read some old posts on stuff like simple green and castrol super clean. How do you use that stuff, do you run it trhough your hose and just spray it on or do you have to do it by hand and get in all the little tight spots. Just wondering what would work without to much time cause it wont stay clean for to long but my dad keeps complaning everytime he looks at it about how it used to be so clean. Thanks, 93

go to a spray bay, and they have a special low pressure engine degreaser/cleaner. i used that recently to clean the dried mud and grease out of my engine compartment and fenders when i pulled broken studs and installed my headers and stuff. worked great and after i sprayed that on, i just used the low pressure rinse option. cost me $1.50

Mud and crap tends to accumulate in the spark plug areas since it has no where else to go....

Alot.....

Shop Vac works wonders... once you remove the plug wire look in and u will see... use a screw driver to break up the caked in stuff and suck it out with the Vac... Break the torque on the plug and suck it again... then again just before you have the plug out.....

go to a spray bay

If you have the stock air box this works best... you can spray with the engine running... if you got a Cone/KN/JWT I would suggest putting the Stock box back in before spraying....

$.50 (Inflation)

hey slick u build your own engines. that is preety cool i want to learn how to do bodywork, but how much does it cost to rebuild an engine and bore it out a some more like .030. just somewhere in the ball park is fine.

wheel 366 would be able to tell you better... i did my own honing and everything, no bore, cams er nothin. that's a stock motor. i have my other motor patiently waiting for me to upgrade with aftermarket stuff sly now.... i just need to win the lottery pssd

ball park..... cams, bore, P & P, pistons, valves........ i'd say in the park of $1500 if you do it yourself...... having the heads done would be about $400 by themselves.. IF.. you supply the parts.... the more you can do yourself the better.. i priced out most everything ( i'll do the work myself) and it came to around $1000
