let me be the first to point you to 48563.jpg

fronts are hard to come by. a few choices for the back but do search.. this horse is definitely dead. :D

ouch :D:P

rear: detroit locker or ARB airlocker

front: ARB airlocker only (R200 front diffs only)

ARB's airlockers are very expensive & you need a compressed air system to go with them, but they are VERY effective - let me tell you, i love mine & the air system comes in handy for inflating tyres as well. wheels are locked and unlocked with the flick of a switch. very good build quality. excellent product.

detroits are still very good, they are much cheaper however they are not selectable ie locked all the time, except cornering on road. some of the lads on here with em might even say elsewise about unlocking on cornering. no air system needed.

I've got the Lock Right too, and its grrrrrrrreat. Just be easy on the gas around tighter corners at lower speeds (say, under 25mph or so) or it will engage and the truck will buck a bit. No biggie. But it is on all the time, and can get squirrelly on ice and snow, although I've driven in it and it just takes a bit more delicate touch and care. Get in some sloppy stuff though, and its night and day vs. open diff.

No front at this time, but I hear the only options are the ARB or to put in and LSD instead from a 300Z car (right?).

I had the ARB"s front and rear.. very nice... very expensive too, it took me 4 years to afford front and rear and 5.14's. I've never drivin with the drop in lock right, but for the price you might not be able to go wrong. I had no choice but to do the ARB in the front b/c i drve the truck on the road in the snow for long distances.. highway.. and a locker would have killed me.

I'm in the same boat. Gonna take me a while to get to where I can afford the front, but I'm not regearing, so hopefully not 4 years!

Anything in the diffs is a HUGE help. Both my dads and my WD21's has LSD's and we just picked up a 95 with an open. holycrap!!! you just touch the skinny peddel and one tire will chirp.

I think I may swap the open to my path later down the road just to have a locker, cause im sure the diff would be just like an open and lsd diff.

88 has a powertrek. maybe he could chime in here and tell us what he thinks of it.

The only electronic locker that Nissan ever offered is on the new Titan, Frontier and Xterra. I think those wires are for the ABS sensor, if your truck is so equipped.

Can you get a picture of the wires?

It most likely has LSD, and the wires are for the ABS sensor. The Lock-Right won't fit into a LSD diff, only an open diff, so you can scratch that one off your list if you determine that you really do have the LSD. You can rebuild the LSD, though. Add a friction disc and tune 'er up and it'll work just like a locker, but with slip.
