This is my ex-wife's Pathfinder. Good will starts here!

98 R50, 3.3, 2 WD.

 

She said the truck stopped. How's that for a begining.

 

Well anyway I checked the spark to plug.... there is none.

Called auto parts and they said there is no stand-alone coil. It's in the distributor; which would suggest all electronic ignition and not sold separately.......damn.

 

In addition: there is fuel in the tank, but not sure if it's getting up to the rails.

 

Ok, one step at a time.................

SPARK first.............. what's my procedure.........

 

Side note: Every manufacturer has their own specs and quirks... another words.... this isn't your daddy's 57 Chevy, sonny.

 

OK! LET"S GET TO IT.

Hmm.....could be a problem with the coil....or could be an ECU problem. When you turn the key to the "On" position, do you hear the fuel pump?

Apparently the coil, power transistor and cam position sensor are all inside the distributor. Ouch. I wonder if they're replaceable separately.

The coil is inside the distributor. Unfortunately, that means you have to replace the entire distributor. It costs around $300:
