RedPath88
Ok so who here has used a roll control brake device before.. such as Line/Loc's? What I would like to know is... How well did it work for you? Did it retain "FULL" brake holding power on the end of the vehicle it was installed? Ever used them on hills? How long if ever, did it take for the pressure to bleed off (any, especially enough to allow movement) Did you ever use them as a "Parking Brake" and if so, was it safe and did you learn to trust it after a few uses? Basically I am looking for any real world knowledge on these devices... any help is appreciated
Guest Thunderbox
Ok.You want to use it as a parking brake? It will work as long as your battery is working.Or you can use this.Hydraulic Brake Lock Edited February 19, 2006 by Thunderbox
RedPath88
Yeah the reason(s) of my questioning does include my intent on using it as a parking break. The fact that they are electric bothers me some. Although I have no problems with the charging system (actually just replaced alternator and V. Reg) you just never know The one you linked too eliminates the battery side of it, but introduces more plumbing changes... which I guess it not really a big deal. This is one like it that I was considering as well.
88pathoffroad
They work fine, and if installed correctly they do not bleed off at all. We had one on a bucket truck (line truck, actually, over 50K lbs) and it held the truck on inclines all day long while we worked out of it. 87pathy
My buddy has one in his samauri, and it works just fine. the harder you push on the brakes, the better it works
RedPath88
Ok thanks everyone... that was what I kinda figured (that they were reliable)... looks like this will not be a problem for me
