Alright well today I had to go to the last place I wanted to be to buy a part....the dealership buahaha lol :help: Anyhow On the back of my winshield whipper between the trunk and the whipper arm theres a rubber sealent...I called everywhere to find it and no one had it...my peice had dried up and cracked due to it being 15 years old lolIt fell off basically when i was replacing the back windshield whipper motor. Anyhow back to the story... it ended up costing me 29.37$ for that stupid little peice...it came with the bolt and a washer...useless to me... But really 30$ for a stupid little rubber peice. ANyhow my point is does anyone know some good canadian shops that can supply me with aftermarket parts...like doorpanels,fenders, bumpers,lights etc... or some cheap american places close to the canadian border so shipping isnt killer.

The dealer is always gonna be expensive, but sometimes for some random hard-to-find parts, you have to do it. I'd suggest thoroughly exhausting your options at junkyards first though. Plus you'll learn more taking the part off of the donor vehicle, and possibly some tricks or "what not to do" situations on the junk truck before you go and start working on yours.

 

As for your parts... door panels will probably have to come from a junkyard or parts truck, while panels, bumpers and lights can be found from many sources. Beware many of the bumpers and lights you find for cheap, say on eBay, etc. I've got an aftermarket chrome replacement bumper after a fender bender 2 years ago, and it was already rusting inside of 1 year. And I'm in WA where they don't use salt, and rust isn't usually an issue. Sooo... be aware of those "super" deals.

Dealers will rape your pocketbook EVERY time. They wanted $30 for a relay AND they were going to have order it. Instead I scored 4 at a j/y for free.

 

So yeah, I'd suggest checking out your local wreckers, or as GG said, Fab these small things yourself :-)

I relplaced the rubber window trim on the doors. You know the ones at the base of the side windows that always rust and bulge up?

 

Yeah! that was pricey from the dealer. But it was a pet peeve of mine so I sucked it up and paid for new pieces.
