mws
Not sure how similar they are to my '87... But I just used a standard panel popper tool - it is like a big-A flat screw driver with a nothched tip. Slide the U around the christmas tree and pop it out. Sometimes you can get them out by just pulling on the panel, but often (especially if the panel ever got wet) the tree will pull through the fiber board. So using the tool is good insurance. Where are you at? If shipping is reasonable, it may be cost effective to loan you my tool. Edited January 10, 2006 by mws

k9sar
I use a small flat nail-bar. inch wide, slight curve and notched on the end.
Mr. Pickles
I've used a stiff putty knife, and again no problems. As with most any any tool, patience and care will work just fine. Edited January 12, 2006 by Mr. Pickles
