Pathfinder vs. Terrano

I posed the following on another forum and was informed that this forum could probably answer my question better here:

 

I'm a US serviceman, in the USAF, stationed overseas; I have a '96 Nissan Terrano R3M-R V-6 4x4 I bought over here. It's very much, if not exactly, identical to the Pathfinder in the US (aside from the fact that it's right hand drive). I need to replace my front shocks and bushings (front upper and lower and maybe rear too; as I have the Pathfinder sway going on). My question is this...can I use US Pathfinder parts of the same year/model for my SUV?

The SUV was bought in Japan and shipped to Okinawa.

i would think so... just guessing though... there are a few terrano folks here so let's see what they may have to say..

That is what I got from the on-base garage here too, everyone is "pretty" sure but not entirely certain. Hopefully someone will know for sure...I'll keep digging and researching it online, too.

As for the shocks, you might try posting mesurements on the board here (if you can) of them fully extended and compressed. Maybe someone can compare them to a Pathy's.

Pictures of the suspension, might also help some too. If things appear to be identical then the odds are very good that the parts (bushings in this case) will be the same... though not 100%

If I'm not mistaken, I thought that everything was the same except for the right vs Lefhand drive.

YES, all the busings are the same. As is suspension components like the upper control arms. LH and RH drive steering components are not compatible. Tire rods are the only thing you can use. I base this answer on what Calmini told me when I looked into beefing up my steering. I could not even use their drag link. It might be a different story with the R50, so check with them.

Got a couple motorheads that I work with here (both very familiar with the Nissan line - Skyline that is) tell me that the parts I am concerned about can be bought using stateside equivalents from the '96 Pathfinder. Thanks for the inquiries and suggestions.

As I said Pezzy. All the bushings and suspension components are the same.
