air bag suspension

Several people have done air bag suspension.

There are a few options in doing so, though.

There is the AirLift airbag system, which will take some of the strain off the coils, and reduce sag and give you some control over ride height.

Then there is the lowrider airbag system which has been done by a couple of people...InSanIuM comes to mind (98 QX4 with airbags and supercharger...haven't seen him around in a LONG time though, don't know if he still has his truck).

Which type system are you interested in? If we had a little bit more information, we can give you more detailed answers. :aok:

They are used for handeling heavier loads (mostly). In laymen terms :P Picture a big heavy duty rubber balloon inside your coil spring that can be adjusted via air compressor. If the air is removed, your susspension returns to normal. If you inflate them, your susspension gets stiffer. But for a more technical explanation :D , check out this link.

yes their are those kind, but their are also complete air bag kits. Meaning you take your coil springs out and replace them with air bags making your suspesion adjustable.

Like the porsche cayennne or the VW touareg. So you could lift your car/suv/truck, ride at stock height or even lower it, all with a flip of a switch.
