vengeful
I am starting to plan and source parts for my week long 100,000 mile (well it'll be a little premature at 97,800, but oh well) servicing. I already know that I need to get the following: Timing Belt Camshaft Seals Crankshaft seals Water pump V-Belts Hoses Wheel Bearings (mine are so shot its not even funny...) All fluids and filters Front brake rotors (beyond resurfacing at this point, have) Anything else you guys think I should do at this point? Idlers/tensioners? etc? XPLORx4
The timing belt interval is 105K, FYI. So you're really about 7,500 miles premature. Other things you should be checking or servicing include the following, if they have not been recently changed: accessory drive belts (2 serpentine: AC and fan/alt, 1 V-belt: P/S pump) rear brake drums and shoes dist cap/rotor plugs plug wires I assume by "all fluids" you mean: engine oil ATF t-case fluid diffs brake fluid coolant power steering Edited August 1, 2005 by XPLORx4
vengeful
Yeah, 10-4 on that all fluids deal... And, I want to get all of this major servicing out of the way before I head back up to school, as it will be getting cold rapidly once I'm in Rochester, and there's a good chance I'll be driving out to Arizona in the Spring. I already have spark plugs ready to go in... Plug wires, eh? cap and rotor, yeah, I just neglected to put that on the list. One more thing....do you think I should be able to tackle all of this in a week? Oh yeah, I think I might need a fan clutch, too. -thnkboutit- This is getting very expensive, very quickly. lewisnc100
How about the thermostat and timing belt tensioner. Don't forget that small little bypass coolant hose. And if you're bearings are shot you'll want to replace the races when you swap the bearings, invest in a brass punch to slowly tap the old races out of the hub. herm
So you're really about 7,500 miles premature. You may not be so premature if you've had those tires on for the last 50,000 miles - the larger tire gives both lower speedo and odometer readings than actual. vengeful
I've only had the 32s for 20,000 miles....but I don't care if its at 94k or 104k, I want to get this done before I go back up to school, because I wont have an opportunity to do it or get it done within the next year. And by then it will be way overdue. Doing it early is better than doing it late, don't cha think? -thnkboutit-
