ARB / TJM + 3" body lift?

alrighty i'm sure this question has been asked before but i have really bad luck with the new search engine so i figured i would ask anyways =) i'm debating a new bumper of the ARB / TJM type, but i know it won't go on as seamlessly as it would to a stock truck due to my body lift and the bumper bracket holes no longer lining up. has anyone else installed one of these bumpers on a body lifted pathy before? what was your solution? pictures / good explanations would be good don't just tell me "i welded it" ;)

Few guys in the X's had to fab up brackets to raise the ARB to fit with a body lift... sorry, no pics for you... They had a shop do them.

I remember seeing a few Pathys with it done a few years ago on AC. Most people cut the brackets on the bumper and insert 3" of material inbetween. I'll see if I can dig up a pic of one.

Does the new bumper mount to the stock mounts? My stock one wouldn't even mount after the body lift, as I had to trim away portions of the bumper to frame mount on the drivers side with a cut off wheel to get it to line up and clear the steering box. I've never compared, but I think there is a bit of difference between the earlier ones vs. the newer ones like my 94 due to the differences in bumper mounting. There is no way at all that a heavier bumper could be properly supported on mine using the Performance Accessories kit, as even with stock, I've had to go back and weld mine due to the poor engineering of the 3" brackets in the body lift kit. I'd bet you could put it on solid as I did (don't kill me for no pics, the other PC with the toys is in a box somewhere!) by lining it up with those P.O.S. brackets, then brushing off paint near where they mount and simply tacking them to the fram for now. Cheesy, I know, but so is the "bracket"/strips of steel solution.

On Pathys they use the upper stock bumper mount and the tow hook mounts for the ARBs and TJMs so the bumpers actually need cut in order to add material above the bottom mounts. Xs and Frontiers have little extentions sticking out from the radiator support that D21s didn't, and their bumpers mount on those.
