Hello there, 

 

long time lurker, first time poster. 

 

I was hoping someone could help me identify the part shown in the attached picture. Skid bar? I'm not sure. The passenger bar has a hole due to rust and needs replacing/repair. The problem is I don't know what to search for. How important is it? I apologize if it's a silly question. 

 

P.S. The picture is for demonstration and not my pathfinder

That part is simply a metal brace to provide backup support for the splash guard. It's not terribly important if you choose to remove it, and it's probably preferable to replace the splash guard and the brace with a genuine skid plate such as this one: https://sfcreation.com/products/front-skidplate-14-aluminium
