bushnut
The darn thing is SO small. I was talking with a Nissan Micra Owner the other day and he said he uses the filter from a Titan. claimed that all Nissan engines use basically the same filter diameter and thread so the Titan one is longer and gives him more oil capacity and therefore better oil cooling as well. anybody have hard info on this before I head down to the local parts store and compare filters? Citron
I know the Titan filter is tiny. The filter wrench I used on my old 98 Hyundai Elantra is to big for the Titan filter.
adamzan
The filter you should be using is the 7317 if going by fram numbers (I don't use their filters but the numbers making looking up things easy). The other one is the 6607 which is even smaller. My moms maxima specs that one but I use the bigger one anyway on it.
bushnut
just went down to the auto parts store...same filter for both the 3.3L VG33 and the V8 5.6L. what was Nissan thinking? MY dads VW passat has more than 6L of oil in the VR6 engine..go figure?
adamzan
And yet they still run to 400,000km with no issues. I don't see a problem. The engine only takes 3.6L of oil in the first place!
