These are all fresh parts 10k miles,so I am not worried about doing a t-belt, I want to fix it and get it home. Can I do this without disturbing the t-belt? Any tips? Unfortunately the way the pump is built, it sort of has part of the side walls of the timing cover built into it, so, no, it's not coming out without the belt coming out. RedPath88 Posted May 29, 2016 Share Posted May 29, 2016 Replace the timing belt when you do it, coolant can damage the belt and cause early failure. djeffrey Posted May 30, 2016 Author Share Posted May 30, 2016 Thanks for the input! My brother and I tore it down, realized it was behind the t-belt and stopped there. I don't want to start doing that in a parking lot in Baja. So we towed it back across the border and took a different vehicle down.
