Hello, I am in Baja, water pump bearing just went out and let loose all my coolent. These are all fresh parts 10k miles,so I am not worried about doing a t-belt, I want to fix it and get it home. Can I do this without disturbing the t-belt? Any tips? I have a water pump and am currently working on it in a parking lot.

Replace the timing belt when you do it, coolant can damage the belt and cause early failure. Don't want to destroy lifters/pistons as a result of a water pump failure, especially when replacement belts can be had for as low as $16.

Thanks for the input! My brother and I tore it down, realized it was behind the t-belt and stopped there. I don't want to start doing that in a parking lot in Baja. So we towed it back across the border and took a different vehicle down. Sad to leave the Pathfinder behind but a bad day in Baja is better than a good day at home!
