Azbuilt
It's been like a month wait for my winch bumper, got one progress picture today, still needs a couples things addressed and powder coating.
Precise1
Damn, that thing looks massive! Is that winch going to allow airflow? I'd think you need that in AZ... B
Azbuilt
I hope so haha!
Harbinger
Looking pretty good. What thickness of metal did you use?
Azbuilt
To be honest, I wouldn't know, had a buddy do it. Maybe a 1/4 inch. Buying Rancho xl9000 shock to help with weight.
Azbuilt
I was thinking about the air flow now. If it happens to over heat, I will change something up, I believe I should be alright.
Harbinger
If it is quarter inch it should be beefy indeed! How does it bolt to the truck?

You might want to look into Sway Away torsion bars as well. Just an idea... I was thinking about the air flow now. If it happens to over heat, I will change something up, I believe I should be alright. Sorry, didn't mean to jinx you! While the WD21s have a good cooling system, the grill isn't very big for the size of the radiator. Hopefully it will be alright, it was just the first thing that came to mind. Azbuilt
@Harbinger. Bolts to the frame in a couple locations. I will get you plenty of pictures when completed. @Precise1 I won't be running sway bars.
5523Pathfinder
Sway-a-ways are replacement torsion bars and they will help with the weight of the bumper. 30% stiffer over stock. Does your rig have any other kind of lift(suspesion, body)?
Azbuilt
Oh!! for some reason was thinking sway bar. I will check into that. Doing Rancho 9000xl shock very soon.
RedPath88
Looks good, what is your plan to finish it, paint or powder coat? Just remember that the shocks are not going to help carry the weight, only dampen it/control compression & rebound motion for better manners. The T-bars are what carries it and the SAW bars will have an easier job doing so.
Azbuilt
Powder coat, I will check into those bars asap! Any info on t-bar replacement off the top of your head? @RedPath88
Azbuilt
You know to be honest, I am looking at a axle working. Found a Chevy truck with axles Dana 44, probably going that route. No more money into the ifs.

Azbuilt
Complete, we are fixing the ends cutting some off for the angle to much block. Next 4 link coil over full axle swap front and rear
Precise1
Agreed, angling those corners would make it look better but it seems good structurally. Do you have it set up for foot down winch mounting? B
Azbuilt
Yeah its foot down. I'll snap a couple more, tried to make the bumper shaped like the original but ehh
darrass
Any updates to the bumper? End up cutting those edges?
