It's been that way for a long time, in fact I can't even remember when it was that we last changed it :lol:

 

But yeah, the reason we've restricted it is because of people putting way to large of images in their profiles and making their profile way taller/longer that is needed. This reduces the flow of threads, impacting the user experience. The Member's Rides section is the place for larger (but still reasonable) posted pics and links to oversized ones ;)
