Brakes bleeding on a 91 PF 2 wheel drive

Recommended Posts

Do you guys think the repair book says to bleed in a certain way so it comes out right in the end. You know what I mean, I'm thinking if you don't do them in the right sequence. then they just don't want to bleed right altogether. After I replaced the master, I bench bleed and then I got the rear to bleed really great, then the front didn't want to bleed that great, just a few inch at a time would bleed through the fish tank hose. I test drive, then it shoots the air a foot through the tubing. then short little burst after that. Hmm, kind bugs me :deadhorse: It seems to brake pretty good, I drive in some dirt then hit the brakes to see if just the back locks. I'll drive some more and see what happens.

So your saying the rear bled great but the front not so much? Possibly the front bleeder screws are partially plugged or just one of them is? May want to replace the front bleeder screws and re bleed all the brakes.

I've always bled the normal way ABS or not, Pass rear, Dr. rear, Pass front, Dr front.

Per the FSM (and my Wagner produced bleed sequence book) the 'correct' sequence is 1. The LSV (load sensing valve)-if applicable, not all trucks have one. 2. LR. 3. RR 4. LF. 5. RF.

Why is it 'backwards' from 'normal'? Don't know, but it is written as such for a reason and it has never given me a problem doing it 'right'.

My book says abs valve last, the one in the middle under truck, But i did it first, then read the book oops, lol. It seems pretty good for now, better than when i was just getting a good bleed from from the fronts only. Thanks for the comments guys.
