UNABLE TO START

I recently got a 1994 pathy. It is unable to start, it cranks but doesn't turn over. I have power up to the distributor but not sure what's wrong. i'm going to be getting an ECU and distributor from the JY and seeing if either one of those is the issue. please any suggestions as to what it may be will be greatly helpful cause i'm at witts end trying to figure this damn thing out.

Have you ran the codes yet? Is it getting spark, fuel, and does it have compression? Have you checked for codes? Don't just start throwing parts at it blindly, that almost never ends up in your favor.

First pull the dizzy cap and try and crank it, see if the rotor turns. That will tell you at least if the timing belt is broken or not.

 

The ecu's in these almost never fail. So I would not buy one of those just yet.

I'm sorry guys i forgot to post that it has been fixed. it ended up being the distributor picked one up from the JY for $50 and it starts right up.

That was going to be my guess. the crank angle sensor is essentially inside the distributor with a metal disc with 360 slits and 6 slots and a laser. It's the laser that fails.
