So Ive had ignition issues on my pathy for almost a year now. Replaced plugs and wires that solved my first go around with my my 99 pathy not starting. A few months later it did it again turns out it was the distributor ( original from factory) replaced that in june. Car ran fine better gas mileage more power etc. Then in august truck dies on me while driving im thinking fuel pump.... nope distributor again turns out the bolt(screw) holding the rotor on the distributor backed out completely screwing the timing and shorting out the distributor when the screw fell into the housing. So took it back under warranty got a new one that one failed in October. Ever since that screw came loose I cant seem to get the distributor back in timing with vehicle ive rotated the crank to the 15 degrees

b.t.d.c. on the timing indicator on crank and im still running slugish and small shakes at idle.

Parts used are ngk oem plugs bought from nissan with maybe 10k on them now

Bosch wires

Cardone non reman distributor

Anyone have any idea why I keep burning through distributors

You probably need to re-index the distributor, which sounds like it's misaligned by one tooth. Lift the distributor up until its gear unmeshed from the camshaft, rotate it by a few degrees then drop it back down.
