Can you bypass the proportional valve in a 2001 pathfinder? I am limping this vehicle through untill it is completly dead and dont want to spend $400 on the valve. What are the issues with doing this if it is doable? Thanks for your time!

Do you mean the valve on the rear axle? I believe you can, but you might find your rear brakes will lock up very easily. If you don't want to spend 400 on a new one (I wouldn't either), may I suggest looking in junkyards or perhaps a part-out on here.

I would probably also cause the ABS light to be on all the time and in most states you can not pass inspection with this light on.

I agree, a salvage yard part would be a good choice for a part like this.
