ahardb0dy
I'll have to check this out, my trans sometimes takes a few to shift from first to second
Nefarious
Mine takes a while to shift from second to third, always winds out second like a power mode shift, the rest are normal. I'm going to do this too..
ahardb0dy
I changed the fluid and filter a while back and blew out the tranny cooler but it didn't make a difference.
ahardb0dy
Just did the test on mine and it came back with steady flashing so I guess that means no faults that can be tested by the self diagnosis can be found.
Towncivilian
I believe the RE4R01A is known for hard 1->2 shifts and sloppy/lazy 2->3 shifts. Even my RE4R01A-HD trans does this.
ahardb0dy
This is my first one, sometimes it shifts hard, sometimes it doesn't want to shift and I have to take my foot off the gas slightly than it will. I figure if and when it goes I'll go to the place where I got my JDM engine and pick up a trans
fearkobe
mine stayed on for a few seconds which means yes so i followed the next step and the light didnt come back on.
Nefarious
Good to know the HD trans does it too... I'm convinced to go manual on my new wd21... I'm sick of the sloppy lazy shifting.
ahardb0dy
After owning my 87 hardbodyfor 14 years and having the trans rebuilt three times at $2000 a shot I swore I would never have another auto trans Nissan again !! But When one (current 94 PF) falls in your lap for $500, couldn't turn it down.
adamzan
Yea but it isn't like you were easy on that truck, from the pictures I've seen you wheeled it quite a lot lol.
ahardb0dy
That is true, we went 4 wheeling a few times each week, weekends were on the beach deep sand. The original tranny lasted 105K miles which the tranny guy said was good, than it was rebuilt, trans cooler and gauge installed, second rebuild was at 175K, not sure miles the third time but it was over 189K as we were living in Florida by than.
