trundle Posted January 14, 2005 Share Posted January 14, 2005 How do you know if a used Pathfinder has a limited slip in the rear. I understand it came on some of the SE models with the tire carrier on the rear. I am most interested in 97's through 99's. I know I could take it out into the snow and wail on it and see if a tire spins out or something like that or checking the vin #, but was hoping there woudl be a way to tell just by looking at the dif. crxfisher Posted January 17, 2005 Share Posted January 17, 2005 Mine says "Use LSD oil only" on the differential case. I can't remember if it's a sticker or if it's right on the metal. lewisnc100 Posted January 18, 2005 Share Posted January 18, 2005 In the 96-97 years the following models had LSD: XE 4x4 with Sport Pkg LE 4x4 SE 4x4 with Off Road Pkg Another way you can tell is by the ID marks stamped in white paint on the top of the rear differential. The ID mark will start with 2 letters, this table defines them: CR 48:11 4.363 CT 48:11 4.363 LSD CV 51:11 4.636 CX 51:11 4.636 LSD Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
