When I was installing my idler arm brace, I noticed that the OEM idler arm has a screw/bolt in the side of the body. Has anybody tried to put a grease zerk in it and grease the idler arm? Didnt think of it until I was buying grease to for my grease gun and was wondering if its worth the effort.

You just love your grease gun!

 

There are two tapered plastic bushings inside of the idler arm. I'm not sure if a central zerk fitting would actually lube them even if you packed it. It would be better than nothing though. I still have a sock idler arm so I'll look as well tomorrow.

There are grease channels in the bushings. I have a spare set that came with the enhancement package from AC. Mine has a bolt as well. I removed it and put a zerk in then put the bolt back after lubing.
