Leo94
I'm in the process of replacing my driver side mirror (RHD) And instead of replacing just the mirror glass (Way too much of a pain) I am replacing the whole mirror assembly down to the connector. So I have the mirror unhooked now and I had to peel back that plastic skin that is in between the metal of the door and the panel that you have to remove. Is it ok if I just peel off the whole skin and throw it away? What is its intended purpose.
fman
it s just a moisture barrier, it should just re stick after you pull it back, if not a bit a contact adhesive will hold it
Leo94
Thanks for that, after reading abit online it seems that it also serves other similar purposes such as: keeping dust coming through the window form entering the cabin and also keeping in the dry air from the air conditioner in the vehicle. Precise1
Yeah, replace it and keep it in good condition, you want it there for a few reasons. B
