33" tires on a 2000 pathy

255/65R16 is:

255mm (tread width) x 65% (sidewall aspect ratio) * 2 (# of sidewalls) / 25.4mm/inch + 16 (wheel diameter) = 29.05" total tire diameter

 

A 33" tire would be more like a 285/75R16 (32.83") or a 255/85R16 (33.07")

 

However, in order to fit a 33" tire, you generally need wheels with a different offset in order to clear the front strut and a suspension lift to minimize rubbing on the wheelwells, splash guards, etc.
