94 PF, my rear view mirror is loose, when shut the door and later get back in the truck the mirror is in a different spot. Just wanted to see if there was anyway to tighten it? Or I'll look for another one next time I hit the junkyard.

Thanks

The actual mirror adjustment is a ball/socket setup, if it's the adjustment that's moving and not the complete assembly chances are the socket end is getting a bit worn. It's time to start hunting for a replacement your next j/y trip. They DO interchange between map light trucks and nons.

  • 1 month later...

took my mirror apart today, the glass popped right out of it and than there is a metal plate with 4 screws, once that is removed there is another metal plate with 1 screw, removing that gets you to a piece of plastic that makes up one half of the socket the ball sits in, no way to tighten it so I wrapped the ball in a layer of electrical tape and put it back together. Seems like it is staying in place will see as I drive more.

There is also a mirror damper that most ppl don't know about. Its a little round piece of rubber that sits between the mirror and the windshield. The arm on Pathy mirrors have a little nub on them to hold it in place.

This mirror damper is missing...
