Yeah, it's come to where anything that has a steering wheel more than 3 feet off of the ground and 4 M&S tires is a SUV. Kind of like the Ford Escape. WTF can that POS escape?

A perfectly good chance for a shot at caR50s rUined by a 90-94 s-10 blazer...

Cos they know underneath it all, the caR50 (the original Hybrid) is better

I just hate the term... "sport" utility vehicle?

wut? what sports are you about to do? an SUV isn't fast, it doesn't handle well, and they can't even go off-road nowadays because they have crap highway tires on them from the factory. Besides that, most 4x4 systems are junk now.

the only vehicle that can actually go off-road (about the only "sport" an SUV could possibly do), isn't even an SUV! It's a Jeep Wrangler.

*not a Jeep fan. just nobody else makes anything semi-good.

I hate that Jeep is the only choice now. The majority of auto makers just seem to like to make model lines for the lowest common denominator. What's the deal with the new Pathfinder minivan? Nissan seems to have lost it.

Most customers dont want/need rock crawers, and the most the 4wd system will ever have to handle is snow.

They are building to their target audience.

Sure they'll chase away the hard core offroad group..all what..10k of us?

Yeah right! Around here there are roads where a typical car will get its strut towers shot through the hood. A front wheel drive p.o.s. import can handle snow just fine. You need a lot more than that in most areas of this country if you want to drive around without fixing the suspension or body work every few months.

Nissan is doing what they always did, trying to make the most money they can.

But if you look at there past you can see what there doing. They went from real frame to unibody back to real frame and now back to unibody.

Its what the people want. Plus everyone knows that the xterra was the real wd21 replacement and not the R50. (wd21 = pathy, wd22 = Xterra)

Will we ever see off road mini van pathfinders? Yeah, since people mod and lift Escapes and there prettymuch the same thing. (although Escapes are great in snow and return high 20s for mpgs with there 3.0 v6)

I love those little early broncos and that is just sexy. If I'm gonna choose a landy though, it's gonna be a classic Range Rover. If their ain't oil under it, their ain't oil in it!

Ya for the price of an ICON you can prolly find an original not too molested rig. And ya, aside from the older series (a la Gods must be crazy) Classic Range Rover is the way to go

UK cars sure look classy but they really leave much to be desired. The English did not care, they allowed for the fact that cars would eventually break down. Their entire auto industry was just a failure. All of their remaining name brand cars that are sold overseas are actually now made in India by Tata motors. The Japanese were actually crazy about UK cars about 40 years ago and have revolutionized the auto industry by proving that cars can be reliable. The Datsun 240Z was a good example of that.

There some info off the top of my head...

The Defender 90 is probably the only truck worth getting but even that is a huge disappointment in many aspects. You are better off with an old rusty Toyota Land Cruiser than a Land Rover Defender. Too bad Nissan never brought any Patrol trucks into the US market. The Pathfinder is a great truck but it's definitely not set up for hard core wheeling from the show room.
