As above~ I have some surface rust on my spare tire carrier and here in a min I am going to remove all of that and then shoot it with a primer and then color. It appears that it was black but I am only about 90% sure on that. some areas appear to be really dark grey but I am thinking that is just what happened from the sun. The 2 attachment points to the truck appear to be back~

 

So just wanted to confirm the original color so I don't change anything ; )

edit: I went ahead and shot it in flat black. Looks pretty sharp.

I was quite pleased with how mine turned out. Mine looked just like your before pic (possibly a little worse) and now looks just just like the final pic ahardb0dy... Thanks again guys!
