William
Hi, I am 100% the RED-marked bushings are for the Upper Control Arm and I've replaced those already. However, can you kindly confirm that the GREEN-marked bushings fit on the Lower Control Arm where they are marked on the diagram below in GREEN: William
Alkorahil
Yes you have to reuse the old shells. And it will be 'fun' getting them off.
Dowser
Fun is an understatement.... Are you sure they absolutely HAVE to be changed? I redid the whole front end bushings and after much research and seeing the pain in the ass it was going to be, decided that even though they are 15 years old, they didn't have any play and didnt need to be changed yet. Good luck.
sewebster
What's the big deal with changing them? Is it removing the spindle? I have done that before and it was a huge PITA, I'll agree. Is it more beyond that? I actually don't understand how my bushings didn't fall out when I took the crossmember out. Maybe they were just wedged in the arms? Steve_RI
Because the torsion bars need to come off it makes the job a PITA. I burned the bushings out, but there is that press that does this. If you can pop the pins (lower link spindle in your pic) out without cutting them off then it is not a terrible job, but this is one job I would not want to do again and I had to do it twice because of insufferable squeaking from the poly bushings.
