brotherbill
I have an 87 pathfinder and at 55 mph my tach reads 3000rpm. Now i know this is to high on the rpm i'm not sure what the remedy is. It is an 87 LE with and v6 auto trans. It shows 1 2 and D on the selector on the console and there is no OD button or switch that i can find anywhere in the vehicle. I dont know if they where equipped with a lock up torque converter. Any ideas? Thanks, brotherbill
Precise1
Hey brotherbill, welcome to NPORA!! I'm not an expert on the early 2 door models but IIRC, the first tranny was a 3 speed without OD, not sure abut TC lockup. What size tires are you running, that is part of the equasion also... GrimGreg
No LEs or OD in 87s. 3spd tranny like B said.
MY1PATH
FYI a pathy can run 5,500RPM all day long so 3 aint so bad. Plus thats right where it makes the most torque (stock) so it gets its best mpg there.
sewebster
Anyone have a stock torque/power curve for a vg30e? Most of the stuff I see online is for modded or turbo etc versions.
MY1PATH
I have a brochure with one in it I'll have to find it and scan it. It basically 100ftlbs @ 2k and 130 @ 2.8 and 4.5 with a gradual 20 point rise in between. It starts falling off by 5k.
