olddirtyrake
So Christmas morning I get done with work at 7am and I run to the grocery store. I look under my pathy and I'm pouring coolant. I refill 3 times on the way home and am furious because I just replaced the water pump preemptively less than 1000 miles ago. Replacing water pump took less than 4 hrs since I've done timing 5 times already. All in all pathy running like a million bucks again. Anyone know a common part that breaks on the auto locking hubs? My neighbors left auto hub broke and I told em I would check it out as local mechanic wants him to replace whole hub and I think It can be done for much less. Its a 95 npf if anyone has a spare one I think he might be interested as well. How you all doing anyway been awhile?
Precise1
Why have you had to replace the water pump 5 times?? I don't know of 'the' part that breaks so no help there but I recommend getting a known good replacement and just swapping them out or taking them apart and comparing what is damaged to learn/fix cheaply for spares!! I have a set on my parts 95 if you can't source them otherwise. B Oh, I'm doing well, thanks. Happy New Year!! nismothunder
I really cant say I've ever had any problems with the water pump and I've ran my truck with out anti freeze in it. The bolts will loosen up from time too time though and that maybe your problem.
GrimGreg
When I originally did my t-belt on my 93, I didn't do the pump. 5k later it started weeping, so I redid the t-belt again when I replaced the waterpump. Took 5hrs the first time, only took 3hrs the second time with the pump . Edited January 5, 2011 by GrimGreg
