Antifreeze leak from the throttle body

Good morning,

I was looking over things under the hood and noticed a small antifreeze leak. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the leak was coming from the lower end of the throttle body near the spring assembly. Anyone know what this piece is? I have a 2000 LE 4WD.

I’ve attached 2 pics below. The first shows the general area with the leak circled and the second is a close up of the piece in question. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The throttle body has coolant lines running to it.

I would suspect the metal attachment point on the throttle body is cracked/rusted and leaking.

There are many people on here who have bypassed this cooling line, you might do a search in the forums for it.

Thanks for the comments, sorry for the inconvenience but please see the site I just created with the pics.

I had an issue similar to this on my old 91 escort gt. The hookup for coolant to run through the throttle body is just pressed in, and while i was doing a quick jaunt down the freeway, it blew out and my car turned in to a steam cloud. I ended up just bypassing it. Gave it a high idle for a bit longer on a cold start, but no adverse affects!
