Portable Air Compressor

Hi guys,

I am looking to add a portable air compressor to my Pathfinder, one of those you hook up to the battery directly. But that I can can take out and pop into the car for those long trips.

So far I am settling on one of these Q Industries MV50 SuperFlow Hi-Volume Air Compressor.

Primary use is to inflate tires, while having air tools use would be nice I don't own any and have other things to spend money on.

Any other suggestions or feedback would be helpful. I realize like all things you get what you pay for.

I have one of these, a portable Quick Air 2.

Quick Air 2 both portable and hardmount units offer maximum flowrate of 2.18 CFM/Max.Pressure of 105 psi. They can inflate a 33" tire in approx. 5 minutes.

It is a midline mini compressor and performs fairly reliably and well for the price. Here are a few general reviews that should help you compare...

As for the Q Industries MV50 SuperFlow Hi-Volume Air Compressor...

Read this...

It performs as well as the Quick Air 2 but at 1/5 or 1/4 the cost. Only question is how long it lasts.

i've been using this air compressor for a couple years now: Titan Air Compressor

It's works really good, and sometimes Duncan puts them on sale.

Same here. I have it connected to my aux battery for power.

Here it is connected to my air tank to power some of my air tools.

Comes in pretty handy.

  • 3 weeks later...

It says the Q Industries MV50 has a max working voltage of 13.7

Do you think that really matters?? Would be a bummer to not be able to use it with the car running and charging at 14.7 and have to have the car off to use it
