Well title says it... how long till the truck dries out and stops running? How much could i still drive after the "E" line on the fuel gauge? cuz the needle is on there but the fuel light hasnt turned on. Will it turn on soon? cuz it has never turned on and i checked the bulb and it's ok, changed it and it still wont turn on so.. yea.. how much more could i drive after/under the "E" empty line.??? like to atleast drive to a gas station., cuz i dont want to stay stuck.:blush02: Cuz i dont have a RED can. :hide:

While welding my frame I siphoned all the gas out of my tank (as much as I could get) and it read it as fuel light...

Go buy a $10 1 gallon thing of gas, and drive!

damn so super empty so it'll light up? :scratchhead:

sometimes the switch in the sending unit fails and the light never comes on. If I get below the line & the E i'll go another 20 miles if I have to. My new 94 on the other hand does that and I only pump 17 gallons, the temp guage reads low too so I suspect a cluster issue in my case.

Could just have a stuck thermostat. That was the case with my truck.

I had that too, when I got it It would not heat up at all (cold heater) and the needle would not move.

Now the heater gets hot and then needle is still lower than it should be. And the gass guage reading low all the time is indicator that something is up. Maybe a VR...

How low? The newer dash pathys seem to run at 1/3 or 1/4 of the way up instead of 1/2 like the older ones (like tungstens 91)
