engine stalling going into gear

my 98 pathfinder is smashing into gear and stalling out when u shift from park to rev or drive it did it one day then a few days later it did it multiple times before it would go into gear without stalling it is just like popping the clutch on a manual the engine smashes to a halt. once it goes into gear it runs A1 shifts perfect and all all day long untill it sits overnight and it does it again.

 

i have a 95 pathy i could switch the valve body with
