so i picked up my truck from my local dealer yesterday.. new tranny was just installed at 68k.. and they managed to fskc it up.. 2 weeks of no truck only to get it, and the shifter on the dash doesnt match the gear i select in on the shifter.. basically in park on my dash it says R on the shifter but its really in park. then in Drive it stays in D until i hit a bump then it dropps in to low 2... o and did i mention i no longer need to press the botton on the shifter to select my gear.....

 

went back to the dealer and mention all this.. they were like sir thats not covered under ur GE coverage.... WHAT?

 

had to get loud and speak to the owner about how the hell they just replace my tranny a few days prior and there were less then 4 miles driven and the must have put something in wrong

 

infiniti of smithtown ny is horrible

Most I try to deal with dealerships is pulling infrint of the showroom, running out and opening he hood, watching the salesmen thinking they have a motivated buyer, check my oil and slam the hood and leave...

Had to replace the tranny in my 01 last year...my wife brings it home and its pissing out oil...(didnt before)then she takes it back and they say they "adressed" it! Say its a crack in the upper oil pan and the tranny needs to come out again or the motor to be lifted (2000.00$$$ on top of the 5500.00 already!!)It comes back pissing out oil. I take it back with her a couple days later show it to the mechanics...they say must have been a crack in the pan an its just gotten worse. (SUDDENLY???) I yell saying that they coulda mentioned it when they had the FREAKIN tranny out 3 days ago and saved the 2000.00$$$...later a mechanic says he "bandaided" the crack with some silcone of something...admitting they new bout the oil leak...WHICH WASNT THERE B4!!! So I ask to spaeak with the shop manager...he comes with no resolution...so i ask for the owner...ITS THE SHOP MANGERS WIFE! They are co-owners!!!!!

 

Needles to say i still have an oil leak from somewhere mysterious!!!! And im pretty bitter bout it too!!!

they just misaligned the shifter linkage. Easy fix to do yourself if you have a 10 or 12mm wrench handy. Not sure what the size is on these trucks, but it would probably take 5-10 minutes. Maybe 20 depending on how motivated you are and how many beers you consume.

This is the reason I vowed after my second Titan that I would never buy another Nissan. The dealers around here have nothing but idiots in the service department. I understand a new vehicle may have a few small problems, but when the service department cant even fix small problems I sure wont trust them to fix large ones. So basically I waisted my money on the extended warranty because if I want even the little problems fixed I have to fix them myself.

Then I turn around and bought this pathfinder. So I changed my vow, I will never buy another NEW Nissan! Besides these older ones are way better built.

Me and KailEkonen had a conversation about this the other day.

We talked about how new Nissan vehicles suck because of the ownership of Renault-Dacia and how the Nissan Versa is actually a Dacia Sandero.

 

They might as well import the UAZ.

I hate to put it like this but my pathfinder was built in Japan, my titan was built in Mississippi. Kind of looks bad for American workmanship.

Ya i now its the linkage but i dont really want to fix it. They did it so they can pay some one to fix it.. Plus i grt a courtesy car from them it always seems to be 2010 g37x .. They took 3 weeks to do my tranny . So i didnt really mind.. Well until i got a bit busy with side business and need tow my trailer to a costomers house.. Pretty funny pulling up in a g37 with a table saw, compressor, roofing guns, and a ton of other @!*% stuffed into it. i even had some 4' level strapped to the roof.. Lol
