RedPath88 Posted July 3, 2010 Share Posted July 3, 2010 Quite a few years ago, a friend of mine was pulled over and issued a warning ticket for not having mud flaps. I called the state patrol to get a clear explanation of what was required. They told me that Trucks had to have them, they are required to be the full width of the tires (installed not factory spec) and that they must extend down to the middle of the axle at the minimum. They also told me that Cars and SUV's (even if truck based - as most of them still were then) were exempt from the mud flap laws.
