96path4x4
I have a 96 Path. I used to get about 17mpg and now I am barely getting over 14.5. Is this normal? I don't have oversized tires and I don't drive hard or on hills. My engine light has been on for quite a while and it is the O2 sensor. I already replaced one and another went bad. Any thoughts if they are worth replacing? and how much do they affect mileage? The factory replacement from Autozone is $95 or if I am willing to splice it myself, I can pay less. HitTheTrails
Bad upstream (at header) O2 sensors will definately affect your gas mileage. $95 is about right. Replace the other one and you should be better.
180sx
HA! I have this same problem. Bad O2 sensor. I just tested my mileage and I got 12.95 MPG. Thats horrible!!!
Northernpathy
I just had both front O2 sensors changed last week. I had pretty horrible mileage, but now that the new ones are in, mileage has increased significantly. I had mine changed at the dealership. It cost me more (due to labor) but that way I got the 12month warranty on them in case they decide to crap out a few months from now (which they are well known for doing).
