Heat Issue

Im not too sure whats going on with my 95 pathy...

 

Im going to start by saying that my gauge cluster has some faulty wiring or something... the tach doesnt work, it just scrambles everywhere. and the temp gauge NEVER goes up past 1/8 of the way, no where even near 1/4 way up, so it always appears that its cold and not near NOT (normal operating temp). BUT There is fresh coolant, and its topped up, no leaks...

 

now, another issue with the heat is that, it doesnt really blow hot... it blows warm, but not as hot as any of my other Nissan's did. All the hvac controls work flawlessly... My brother told me that I might have to change my cabin filter but I dont see how that will change anything. (and i dont know where it is lol)

 

any other help would be appreciated!

pathys don't have a cabin air filter. but you may want to change your thermostat. a worn out one may not be allowing you proper warm up.

You may have an air lock in your coolant line somewhere, used to happen in my 89 after i changed my coolant. As far as your gauges, does your fuel gauge function properly? If not it may be a simple fix. Is your upper rad hose hot to touch when truck has been running for a bit? heater core could be plugged...

Yep, good advice so far.

 

Your cluster is electronic and has a bit of crazy in it. Remove the entire cluster and wave it over your head to shake out the crazy while chanting and dancing around a bonfire to release the demons. Then tighten the brass screws in the back (ground points) and maybe smear it with chicken blood. Reinstall and observe...

 

I have seen this method work on my own gauges.

my fuel gauge and speedo is fine, and the temp goes up 1/8th of the way and stops.

 

im not 100% sure, but im pretty sure that there is no air left in the system
