1987caddy
I was finding my exhaust leak this morning when I found that the driver's side strut rod is broke were the bushings go. The end is broke when the large nut and bushings go through the bracket on the frame. Is there any aftermarket companies that carry these or are they dealership only. No telling how long it has been broke. I HATE rust.
MY1PATH
get one from a JY, get new poly bushings from Moog OR enenergy suspension and weld a bearing cup that matches the taper of the busihing to each side of your mounting bracket.
1987caddy
Thanks, but i would rather put new ones on that deal with the same problems again. It seems that these are well known for breaking are troublesome.
adamzan
I don't know if you can get the rods anywhere other than the dealer but don't get them at a junkyard. They are likely to be just as worn as yours was before it broke. You can get the bushings from www.rockauto.com or any parts store.
1987caddy
Thanks for the help. I looked around the shop today and found some afco racing strut rods I used on a later model dirt car. Just have to make a mount for the heim joints. Thanks again.
