Tungsten
I have automatic mirrors and on my right mirror, the glass mirror piece is wobbling. Is there any way I can take it apart and fix it?

adamzan
Adamzan tried to fix one, I believe and now has one with broken glass so he may be able to supply some insight. Anything about them in the FSM? Do you have the FSM?? B B is right. DO NOT TRY TO PRY OUT THE GLASS. You will most likely break it. Are you sure it's the glass portion or the whole casing? If it's just the glass you may be able to pop it back in place but be very careful. The way it sits in there is like this. There are two threaded plastic bolt like things that are integrated into the glass portion. They are used to move the glass with that little joystick thing in the cab. Then there is a socket that it fits onto in the middle. Maybe it popped off? Edited June 26, 2009 by adamzan
Tungsten
if I press on the glass, it feels very squishy should i press harder?
adamzan
I don't want to say press harder and have you break the glass. But maybe you can move the glass with the controls all the way to one side to see in behind if it is indeed out of the socket.

Tungsten
looks like the only way in is to pry off the glass from those ball things
JUDGE
Here's how one would remove the glass from an R50's mirror, I'm not sure if mirrors from previous Pathfinders are the same but here goes. Here's my mirror, You'll need to pry from the bottom of the glass. Once you hear/feel the pop lift the glass upwards. The glass will then come out. These are the top locks. Hope this helps! Tungsten
UPDATE On the WD21, that is not the right way to take the mirror apart! You have to remove the mirror glass from its frame housing by squeezing the edges of the frame while SLOWLY prying the glass up. Do not pry the plastic piece out of the mirror housing, you WILL BREAK it. Once the mirror piece comes out of its plastic retaining frame, tighten the screws as you wish. Just fixed mine, took me a few minutes to figure it out but I did it.
