Gas type

Hi I bought a 95 pathfinder 3 weeks ago,the tank was near empty and I filled up with the cheapest gas.The next day the cel came on I read the manual and it said to use 91 octane .I used this since but light still comes on ,sometimes it goes away for a while but returns. Just want to know if if anyone has same problem and what gas you all using?

I'm pretty sure my 95 manual says to use just 87... That is what I use and it works perfectly.

I use midgrade as well because I get sligthly better MPG from it I also have my base timing advanced 3 deg for the higher octane.

but 87 should work fine.

also if you fill @ half or more than half full you will see better mpg because there is less empty volume for the gas to vapoize too; 21 gallon tank offers allot of volume to vaporize (waste)gas.

That Is interesting as I find my first half last's a lot longer than my second half.

I think the vaporization effect is pretty minimal, even considering the internal volume of the tank.

the manual of my '89 said 91 oct or better.. i hardly ever put anything but the cheap stuff... the '94's manual says 87oct and that is all i ever put in it.. never noticed any differences in performance or MPG's
